A Guide to Balqees Honey: Origins, Varieties and Fusions

Balqees Honey: A Connoisseur’s Guide to Raw Yemeni Heritage and Functional Wellness

Balqees brings together Yemeni honey, honeys from other origins and blends with added ingredients. Choosing from the range is easier when you separate origin, floral description and flavour.

Start with Yemeni honey

Sidr Do’ani comes from Wadi Doan in Yemen’s Hadramaut region. Its rich flavour includes caramel and butterscotch tasting notes. Yemeni wildflower offers a multifloral choice. Their names tell different parts of the story: Sidr describes flowers, Do’ani a region and wildflower a mixture of floral sources.

Explore other origins

White Mountain honey comes from Kyrgyzstan and is known for its pale, creamy character. Emirati Sidr identifies a UAE origin. These are part of the Balqees range, but should not be described as Yemeni because they share the same brand.

Understand a fusion

Balqees UAE fusions use Yemeni Sidr Do’ani as their base, with added ingredients such as black seed, ginseng or spices. Read the complete label: a blend can contain more than the ingredient highlighted in its name. Wonder Fusion, for example, includes additional bee products and Royal Manuka alongside its other ingredients.
