Sidr Honey
Sidr honey is made by bees foraging on the blossom of the Sidr tree. At Balqees we bring you raw, unpasteurised Sidr honey from four regions, each with its own character. Compare the origins, tasting notes and jar sizes below to find your Sidr.
Yemeni Sidr honey
- Raw Yemeni Sidr Do'ani: from Wadi Do'an in Hadhramaut, harvested by nomadic beekeepers. Rich and aromatic, with caramel and butterscotch notes. Awarded 2 stars at the Great Taste Awards.
- Yemeni Sidr Balqees: from a remote part of the Do'an Valley, where the Sidr nectar is more concentrated than in regular Sidr honey. Complex and delicately sweet, medium to dark amber, with a very thick texture. Awarded 1 star at the Great Taste Awards.
Emirati, Himalayan and Greek Sidr
- Emirati Sidr: local raw honey from wild flowers and Sidr flowers in the deserts of Ras Al Khaimah.
- Himalayan Sidr: raw honey from Sidr tree nectar in the remote Himalayan countryside of Nepal, with a creamy caramel taste.
- Greek Sidr: from Sidr trees in the forests of northern Greece, with a rich, caramel-like sweetness.
Which Sidr honey should you choose?
Do'ani is our best-selling Sidr and a good place to start. Sidr Balqees is our premium Yemeni Sidr, with a more concentrated Sidr nectar. Emirati Sidr is our local UAE honey, and Greek Sidr is our most affordable Sidr. Every Sidr comes in 250g, 400g and 1kg glass jars, delivered across the UAE.
